Golden Strip Emergency Relief and Resource Agency (GSERRA) is a United Way partner agency.  Fountain Inn Relief merged with Mauldin/Simpsonville Relief in 1997 to form the current agency, GSERRA, located in Building 7 of the Center for Community Services.

Our goal is to provide assistance in times of economic crises to residents of Greenville County living south of Interstate 85 and Laurens County living north of Highway 101.  We offer food boxes, pledges towards rent and utilities, and prescription assistance to those who qualify.  See our Client Information page for more details on receiving assistance.

GSERRA relies heavily on volunteers to run the day to day operations, and we are always interested in having new faces join our volunteer crew.  Please see our Volunteer page for more details about volunteer opportunities.

The Agency depends on the generosity of the Golden Strip communities of Mauldin, Simpsonville, and Fountain Inn to remain in operation each year.  The United Way is our partner, but donations from the community account for the difference we require to keep our doors open year after year.  Two main ways to donate are to host a food drive or make a financial contribution.  Food drives heavily impact our bottom line by freeing up cash donations to go towards client assistance or the 10% of our budget that makes up operating and staff costs.  With only two regular paid employees and one part time paid assistant, we are extremely focused on maximizing our funds for client benefit. Any one, church, business, or individual, can host a food drive.  Please see the Food page for step by step instructions.

To donate a check payable to GSERRA, mail to P.O. Box 193, Fountain Inn, SC 29644. Any cash donations need to be received at the Agency during operating hours. We are also eligible for corporate matching by many area businesses.  Check with your employer to see if Golden Strip Emergency Relief is on their list of charitable agencies.
